Slow down aging with weight training

August 11, 2017 by Reuel Payne

What’s the deal with so many companies advertising products that are ‘anti aging’?!? We hear and see a lot of advertising for anti aging creams, pills, and many other products. The fact is that there is no such thing as ‘anti aging’. It’s all a fallacy. The aging process is a part of life and happens to everyone. We can, however, slow it down. Beware of deceptive supplement company marketing

My fellow gym goers, aspiring gym goers, I just want to take some time to address deceptive marketing by supplement companies that I’ve seen and experienced over the years. One of the most disappointing, and annoying, things is trying to improve one’s health and physique only to be deceived by shady marketing tactics from supplement companies. Anabolic Steroids: Should I use them?

June 16, 2017 by Reuel Payne

“If you have the choice to do steroids or stay natural, stay natural. There’s no reason to do steroids, you’re only hurting your body and hurting yourself.”

Bodybuilders and athletes discovered that they were also an asset to help with performance enhancement and positive body compositional changes. I don’t necessarily advise others to take them or not to take them but, like many others, I list the pros and cons of their usage in order for an informed decision to be made. How does one take dietary supplements to maximize nutrition? I briefly touched on maximizing nutrition in one of my other posts. With so many genetically modified foods  and foods devoid of nutrition on the market I believe it is essential, now more than ever, to add dietary supplements to one’s lifestyle, in conjunction with weight training, in order to maximize nutrition and enhance one’s immune system. With the advancement of technology and other breakthroughs in the arena of science, genetically modified foods are very beneficial to an extent. Staying Injury Free

May 22, 2017 by Reuel Payne

During my 20 plus years of weight training I’ve never been injured. I credit being injury free to always emphasizing safety in my workouts. Ego lifting, a type of lifting we see on a constant basis in gyms worldwide, will eventually lead to injury. Although it’s done mostly by men, there are many women who try to impress with the extra poundage as well. As I stressed in one of my previous posts, ‘focus on health’, unless one is powerlifting, or olympic weightlifting, it makes no sense getting injured trying to determine what one’s one rep max is or trying to imitate the many reckless ‘Youtube stars’ who use terrible form when demonstrating exercises.
